One of the most important features of 316+ stainless steel is the additional corrosion resistance provided by molybdenum.
Our Power Steel products contain 18/12 carbon, nickel, and 2% molybdenum.
316+ stainless steel becomes more temperature-resistant with the addition of molybdenum. It also offers greater strength than 304 grade.
The term 18 refers to the chromium content of the stainless steel material (e.g., 18% chromium). The second percentage, 12, represents the nickel content (e.g., 12% nickel). As the percentage increases, corrosion resistance increases.
